Message from the Founders

WHATaECO is a Start-up with high ambition. We also believe ambition is not a bad word. As a purpose-led company, our values are fundamental to achieve our goal of making sustainable living commonplace. We put our values, ethics and sustainability, into practice and reiterate our commitment to provide a low impact, ethical, helpful and interesting service. This strong focus on values helps us to grow our business and deliver our message in a coherent and appealing way. Our partners, co-workers and customers trust us for doing business with transparency, integrity and positivity. This attitude, pragmatic enthusiasm, is one of our greatest assets, and to maintain our reputation, requires the highest standards of behaviour. For this reason we thank you in advance to take the time to read in depth what we stand for and to share our vision of a more engaging and sustainable way of doing business.

"Caring about the environment is not a movement or ideology.

It is the next step in our evolution." -David Goleman

1. The code and our standard of conduct

Introduction

At WHATaECO we believe in a world that values and benefits from growing responsible and sustainable businesses. Our ethical Code codifies our values, making clear what is expected from our people. Through living our Code, we will bring our values and purpose to life, every day in everything we do.

We do what we say, so you won't read anything we don't really believe in. We believe consistency is key to success.

Standard of Conduct

We conduct our operations with honesty, integrity and openness, and with respect for the human rights and interests of our stakeholders. We are committed to providing transparency across all our operations gaining trust for what we do and the way we do it.

Respect the Law

Everyone working in/for WHATaECO is required to comply with the laws and regulations of the countries in which we operate.

Low impact

WHATaECO was born to provide easy access to daily needed resources through a web shop which had to have a low impact on the Planet. WHATaECO is committed to always stay up to date to find the most ecological way to grow the business. WHATaECO will always strive to use the less impacting hosting server on the market and will always be focused on finding the best logistic solution to reduce the transports and compensate the emissions.

Consumers

WHATaECO is committed to providing purposeful products and services which consistently offer value in terms of ethical supply chain and eco-compatibility.

Competition

WHATaECO believes in vigorous yet fair competition and will conduct every operation in accordance with the principles of fair competition and all applicable regulations. We also have a conscience to listen to.

Corruption

WHATaECO does not give or receive, whether directly or indirectly, bribes or other improper advantages for business or financial gain. Nobody working in/for WHATaECO may offer, give or receive any gift or payment which is, or may be construed as being, a bribe. Any demand for, or offer of, a bribe must be rejected immediately and reported to management without hesitation.

Conflicts of Interests

Everybody working for WHATaECO is expected to avoid personal activities and financial interests which could conflict with their responsibilities to the company.

Community

WHATaECO is committed to support a new environmentally friendly project each year which will be communicated to the public in a transparent way explaining what, when and how we did it in a yearly sustainability report.

Report and transparency

WHATaECO is committed to prepare a yearly sustainability report about the economic, environmental and social impacts caused by its everyday activities.

Data

WHATaECO is committed to the responsible, ethical and fair use of data. We collect and use data in line with our values, applicable laws and with respect for privacy as a human right.

We believe in a new way of doing business in which progress is not measured by the speed at which we destroy the conditions that sustain life.

2. People and competition

How we treat people

People should be treated with dignity, honesty and fairness.

WHATaECO and everyone involved celebrate the diversity of people, and respect people for who they are, inside. WHATaECO wants to foster working environments that are fair and safe and where fundamental rights are respected. We respect diversity in each other, our customers and suppliers and all others with whom we interact. Our goal is to be an inclusive company, working toward full equity, inclusion and accessibility for those whose lives we touch.

Moreover, we believe everyone can achieve their full potential but only when doing something with passion in a comfortable environment which we strive to always provide.

At WHATaECO we do:

- Respect the dignity and human rights of everyone;

- Treat everyone fairly and equally, without discrimination on the grounds of race, age, role, gender, gender identity, colour, religion, country of origin, sexual orientation, marital status, dependants, disability, social class or political views.

Also, each recruitment, redundancy, promotion, reward, benefits and training must be based on merit.

At WHATaECO we work in an environment that is free of harassment, bullying and discrimination. Harassment, bullying and discrimination take many forms, including:

- Unwelcome remarks, gestures or physical contact;

- The display or circulation of offensive, derogatory or sexually explicit pictures or other materials, including by email and on the Internet;

- Offensive or derogatory jokes or comments (explicit or implicit);

- Verbal or physical abuse or threats. Also, WHATaECO condemns child labor in any form but appreciates young creative minds.

If young workers are temporarily employed (short-term work experience schemes and work that forms part of an educational programme are permitted), WHATaECO never allows them to do work that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous or interferes with their schooling by depriving them of the opportunity to attend school. Everybody has the right to work from home.

When working in the office everybody has the right to go to the bathroom when needed, eat when hungry and drink when thirsty.

Teamwork

Working well with others is a virtue, rather than an obligation. Everybody involved in WHATaECO will certainly get to work autonomously and be focused on their own projects and responsibilities. But, being ready to collaborate with and help others is fundamental.

We requiere: being generous with personal expertise and knowledge and being open to learn and evolve as a Team. Nobody working in/with WHATaECO should be jealous of an idea or restrained from expressing opinions. If days go by without consulting or brainstorming with anyone, we believe there is a missing out on opportunities for excellence. Instead, working with others and not hesitating to ask for help when needed is the key to develop a virtuose and always growing environment.

Our idea of competition

It is in WHATaECO best interest to promote free and open competition. WHATaECO must make its own business decisions, free from understandings or agreements with competitors or suppliers that restrict competition.

When working with WHATaECO, all partners must:

- Not discuss pricing, production or markets with competitors

- Always present WHATaECO services and products in a manner consistent with the core values

- Not induce a third party to breach an existing agreement

- Never act in any unlawful manner

- Avoid acting in conflict of interests

If someone discovers having family or other personal relationships with people employed by a direct competitor or business partner shall not talk about anything confidential, and shall not solicit confidential information from them about their company.
